Tragedy at the Pantheon: Japanese Tourist Falls from Wall and Dies

A Japanese tourist died last night in Rome after falling from the perimeter wall of the Pantheon. The man, who was in his 70s, fell about 7 meters into the moat. Rescue efforts were unsuccessful.

To reach it, firefighters forced open the entrance gate outside the Pantheon. The cause of the incident is still being determined. Police and local police were on scene.
