A Sardinian nun - Giulietta Cambus, 87 - victim of a tragic accident in Veneto. The woman died crushed under the weight of a heavy wooden cabinet that overturned.

It happened at Villa Regina Mundis, a Treviso community that welcomes a dozen single mothers with addiction problems. Here Giulietta Cambus, originally from the province of Cagliari and known to all as Sister Eligia , had been serving for some time together with other nuns.

To give the alarm were two sisters who, not seeing her, became suspicious and went to look for her, finding her now poured out, lifeless.

According to an initial reconstruction of the incident, the wardrobe overturned while the woman was opening a door and would have overwhelmed her, making her violently bang her head against a chair , a blow that would have left her no way out.

The police have launched investigations, but the involvement of other people seems to be ruled out .

Pain and emotion for the dramatic episode in the whole community of Treviso, which remembers Sister Eligia as a person deeply committed to helping others .
