The well-known psychologist Vera Slepoj died during the night in Padua. She was 70 years old and fell ill while she was at home. The rescue efforts were useless.

Originally from Portogruaro, she graduated in Psychology at the University of Padua in 1977 with a thesis on "Deviance and control mechanisms in a current society". In the early 1980s he published his first book, "Understanding Feelings".

In the past she was councilor for culture and museums of the Province of Padua, and also president of the Italian Federation of Psychologists and of the International Health Observatory. «A loss not only for the scientific community - commented the mayor of Padua, Sergio Giordani - but also for the city, where she, originally from Portogruaro, had chosen to live after graduating from our University».
