The incidence of Covid-19 cases and the Rt transmissibility index in Italy are still decreasing. The weekly incidence at national level, for the period 11-17 February and according to data from the Ministry of Health, drops to 672 per 100,000 inhabitants and against the figure of 962 per 100,000 inhabitants of the previous week (4-10 February).

In the period January 26-February 8, the mean Rt calculated on symptomatic cases was instead equal to 0.77 (range 0.72 - 0.88), a decrease compared to the previous week when it was equal to 0.89 and above. below the epidemic threshold.

IN SARDINIA - On the other hand, the situation on the island still remains critical, which in contrast to the national figure is approaching the peak of infections , expected according to data from the Gimbe foundation at the end of the month.

Between 9 and 15 February, again according to Gimbe, Sardinia recorded a new deteriorating performance for the currently positive per 100,000 inhabitants (2,192 compared to 1855 the previous week).

There is also an increase in new cases (2.3%) even compared to the last survey. The city with the highest incidence is Oristano with 1,409 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants.
