Hunt for the hideout of Matteo Messina Denaro, the super fugitive arrested in January 2023 and died last September.
Searches are underway, ordered by the DDA of Palermo, in a residential complex in Mazara del Vallo, an investigative activity carried out by the police and the Carabinieri, which is part of the investigations into the network of supporters of the mafia boss.
The provision arises from the SCO's investigations which made it possible to reconstruct Messina Denaro's movements in an area of Mazara in the months preceding the arrest. Attention was focused on a residential complex in which it is believed that Messina Denaro had the availability of a property or a possible "reserved hideout" which has not yet been identified.
The Palermo DDA has decided to control all the garages of the residential complex and an inspection of the places to verify whether some keys found from the fugitive and his supporters open apartments and rooms in the structure.
