The Strike Guarantee Commission, referring to the general strike of October 3rd in response to the Israeli navy's blockade of the Global Sumud Flotilla vessels—which also saw demonstrations in Sardinia —has decided to open a "proceeding to evaluate the conduct of the unions that proclaimed the strike."
This was announced in a statement from the Strike Guarantee Commission. The list of unions under scrutiny also includes Cobas Sardegna, along with CGIL, USB, CUB, SGB, Cobas, and Cib Unicobas.
The Guarantor, the statement continues, "with the provision already adopted on October 2nd, had previously notified the protestors of the violation of the legal obligation to provide notice, as required by Law 146/90, deeming the reference to Article 2, paragraph 7, which provides for the possibility of carrying out strikes without notice only 'in cases of abstention from work in defense of the constitutional order, or of protest for serious events detrimental to the safety and security of workers,'" as irrelevant.
