A turning point in the investigation into the death of Silvana La Rocca , the 73-year-old originally from Saraceno (Cosenza) found lifeless last night in the garden of her villa in Marina di Leporano (Taranto) with a deep wound to her abdomen.

The 46-year-old son, Salvatore D'Ettori, tracked down and questioned by the Carabinieri, confessed to the murder : "I stabbed her and then I ran away." The man was arrested, by order of the prosecutor Eugenia Pontassuglia and the prosecutor Salvatore Colella, on charges of voluntary homicide.

The woman's body was found lying in the garden of the villa in a pool of blood . The apartment, however, was saturated with gas. Perhaps the man intended to mislead the investigation . Silvana La Rocca, a retired teacher, had two children, one of whom lives in France. The other, a resident of Pulsano, a former Navy soldier, is the one arrested for the murder.

He himself alerted the police last night, trying to throw off the investigation. He said he was worried because he had not been able to contact the woman for several hours . During the interrogation, after repeatedly contradicting himself, he confessed to having stabbed his mother. The motive is still unclear.
