An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 was recorded this morning around 5 by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology. The earthquake occurred off the western coast of Sicily, in the sea, in front of Trapani, at a depth of 1 kilometer.

The shock was also felt in Marsala, Mazara del Vallo and in the Egadi. According to initial information collected by the firefighters and the carabinieri, no damage was reported.

Many people woke up in their sleep and there were numerous phone calls to the fire brigade, alerted together with the civil protection to check for any damage to homes.
