A 37-year-old man attacked his 31-year-old partner in an attempted murder. After she escaped from neighbors with her one-year-old daughter, he committed suicide by jumping from the tenth-floor balcony of an apartment building. The incident occurred this morning in the Barriera di Milano neighborhood, on the northern outskirts of Turin.

According to an initial reconstruction, based in part on the woman's testimony, the attack arose from a trivial argument. The man allegedly took her to the balcony of the apartment, located on Via Cervino.

Here he apparently attempted to throw her into the void and also strangle her, placing his hands around her neck. Both attempts failed. The thirty-one-year-old then managed to escape to a nearby apartment with the child, and the man then jumped into the void. The Carabinieri are investigating the incident.
