New round of voting for the Regional elections in Emilia-Romagna and Umbria , where the polls will remain open today from 7 am to 11 pm and tomorrow, from 7 am to 3 pm. Two challenges that will be observed especially at the Roman level, to understand the state of health of the majority, the opposition and the individual parties.
In Emilia, citizens were called to the polls for early voting after the resignation of Stefano Bonaccini (PD) , elected MEP in June. Running for the office of president are: Michele de Pascale (centre-left), Elena Ugolini (centre-right), Federico Serra (Potere al popolo, PCI and Rifondazione comunista), and the civic Luca Teodori.
In Umbria, however, there are nine candidates: the outgoing president Donatella Tesei for the center-right and the mayor of Assisi Stefania Proietti for the center-left. The other candidates are: Martina Leonardi, Marco Rizzo; Moreno Pasquinelli; Fabrizio Pignalberi; Elia Francesco Fiorini; Giuseppe Paolone; Giuseppe Tritto.
The turnout recorded at the polls in both regions, for now, is low. In Emilia Romagna at midday, according to data that is not yet definitive, the turnout was around 11.5%, less than half of the regional elections in 2020, when voting took place in a single day, but by 12 pm 23.44% had already gone to the polls. The turnout is also slightly down compared to the municipal elections in 2021 (when voting took place on Sunday and Monday) and the 50% threshold was barely exceeded. This trend was also confirmed in Umbria, when the data for just over half of the thousand sections for the regional elections arrived. The figure reported by the Eligendo portal is in fact 9.48 compared to the previous 19.77.
