«Italy has delivered a series of tax assessment notices to Meta, X and LinkedIn».
This is what Reuters exclusively reports, according to which the request for payment forwarded by the Italian tax authorities to the US technology giants "could have repercussions throughout the European Union".
In particular, Reuters writes, Italy is asking for 887.6 million euros ($961 million) from Meta, 12.5 million euros from X and approximately 140 million euros from LinkedIn, for a total of over one billion euros.
"These figures - explains Reuters - refer to the entire period under investigation, from 2015-2016 to 2021-2022, depending on the case, but the notice of assessment now notified concerns only the years for which the claims are due to expire, i.e. 2015 and 2016".
