After yesterday's defeat, with the majority down by one vote in the Chamber of Deputies in the secret ballot for the Brothers of Italy amendment on preferences, the Chamber also rejected the amendment presented by National Future, also regarding preferences. There were 139 votes in favor and 233 against, with the center-right split: Brothers of Italy voted yes, while the League and Forza Italia voted no.

This last vote on preferences was also held by secret ballot. But even before the vote, Giorgia Meloni's party, which has 117 members of the Chamber of Deputies, had expressed its intention to vote in favor.

The outcome of this vote also triggered a reaction from the opposition. "Today, a new minority government is being revealed, the Fdi-FnV coalition. We cannot continue as if nothing is happening in this Parliament," commented Riccardo Ricciardi, leader of the Five Star Movement in the Chamber of Deputies.

"A right-wing majority has been formed," the current "majority no longer exists. Stop!" echoes PD group leader Chiara Braga. Luana Zanella of AVS agrees: "The FdI is attempting to use the Vannacci group as a crutch for a government in crisis."
