The Pope remains hospitalized at Gemelli, while rumors of his resignation continue to circulate and fill websites and social media posts.

But Cardinal Pietro Parolin comes to silence them. "It all seems like useless speculation to me. Now we are thinking about the health of the Holy Father, his recovery, his return to the Vatican: these are the only things that matter," said the Vatican Secretary of State in an interview with Corriere della Sera.

"Thank God, the news coming from Gemelli is encouraging, he is recovering - continues the Cardinal -. He has been sent some official paperwork and this means that he is doing well".

In recent days, fake news and alarms about the health of Pope Francis have not been lacking, and it is no coincidence that there has been talk of “crows” around the Vatican . “Honestly, I must say that I do not know if there are maneuvers of this kind and I try, in any case, to stay out of them,” Parolin emphasizes. “On the other hand, I think it is quite normal that in these situations uncontrolled rumors can spread or some inappropriate comment is made : it is certainly not the first time that it has happened. However, I do not believe that there is any particular movement, and so far I have not heard anything of the sort.”

With a look and a prayer turned to the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine, the Cardinal warns : "authentic and just peace is born from the involvement of all parties involved. Everyone must be involved and willing to negotiate to reach mutually accepted agreements. Otherwise peace will never be stable and lasting and the world will become a jungle in which conflicts will increase, with their terrible consequences of destruction and death."
