A 75-year-old man, resident in a municipality in the province of Pavia, was sentenced to 7 years and 8 months in prison and ordered to pay provisional compensation of 50 thousand euros for the crimes of sexual violence and possession of child pornography.

According to the prosecution, during the 2020 Christmas holidays he abused his niece, who was 6 years old at the time. Furthermore, images of minors were found on his computer. The news was reported today by the newspaper "La Provincia Pavese."

Five years ago, the girl, who lives with her family in the province of Varese, was at her grandparents' house for the Christmas holidays. It was in this context that the events that led to her grandfather's conviction occurred. In their closing argument, the prosecution had requested a 13-year sentence.
