He was sleeping in the emergency room while a patient lying on a stretcher was waiting to be examined. This is what allegedly happened in the hospital of Cerignola, in the province of Foggia, to a doctor on duty filmed in a video shot by the relatives of another patient.

According to the newspaper La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno, the doctor is not new to similar episodes, so much so that his colleagues have sent a letter to the management of the emergency room "requesting appropriate measures to protect the health of patients and their own work".

The filmed episode allegedly occurred on the night between April 30 and May 1. A man with hypertension and nosebleeds showed up at the emergency room and was treated by the doctor in question. According to the reconstruction, after having provided the necessary treatment, the doctor discharged him, but the patient started bleeding again, which is why he required further intervention. The doctor instead proceeded with the discharge, appearing extremely drowsy and even going to sleep in front of the patient's relatives . In broad daylight.

According to rumors, the doctor was not on duty for a few days, because he was on vacation, which he had already requested some time ago. A situation on which, now, the same health workers on duty in the department are asking for interventions.
