The driver of the SUV that led to a chase last night that killed 39-year-old Milan local police officer Francesco Imprezzabile has been located and arrested in the province of Monza and Brianza. A second person was also arrested with him. The two were stopped by local police officers in Monza and Milan. According to reports, they are believed to be Albanian citizens .

The tragedy occurred last night: the car carrying the two accelerated at a checkpoint, and the officer on a motorcycle, along with another patrol car, gave chase . The chase began in Milan and ended dramatically in Peschiera Borromeo, along the narrow, two-lane road that runs alongside the runway at Linate Airport. There, the officer fell heavily onto the asphalt. He was taken to Niguarda Hospital in critical condition and died shortly thereafter . Investigations are underway to reconstruct the accident's dynamics: it has not been ruled out that the officer's motorcycle was rammed by the same SUV , which was then abandoned in Pioltello, about ten kilometers from the scene of the tragedy. In that case, the driver's condition would significantly worsen.

On May 23, Francesco Imprezzabile posted a photo of himself on his service motorbike on his social media pages: "Wearing this uniform isn't just a job, it's a responsibility," he wrote. "It's not just any job: it's a vocation, a passion, and a sense of duty. Only when you do this with all your heart can you always give your best. Behind every day are sacrifices, renunciations, hard work, and so many things that no one sees. But when you do everything with honesty, respect, and honor, then you know you're on the right path."

Again: "You must never give up, even when everything seems more difficult, because the results achieved through sacrifice speak for themselves. People will always talk and judge without truly knowing what you're going through. But the most important thing is to be at peace with yourself, look in the mirror and know you've given it your all with dignity. Because in the end, sacrifice, honesty, and perseverance are the only things that truly pay off."

On his Facebook profile, there have already been numerous messages of condolence from friends and acquaintances following his passing . "You put your heart into this dream... I can't believe it, what the hell happened," wrote an incredulous friend.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni also spoke: "I learned with deep sorrow of the death of Milan Local Police officer Francesco Imprezzabile, who lost his life in the line of duty during a pursuit. On behalf of the Italian Government, I express my deepest condolences and my closeness to his family, friends, and colleagues. Those who wear a uniform put their lives at the service of others every day. Italy does not forget the sacrifice of those who work with dedication and professionalism to ensure the safety of citizens and respect for the rules. Honor to Francesco, a servant of the State. May the earth rest lightly upon you ."

A message from President Sergio Mattarella : "I have learned of the death of Milan Local Police officer Francesco Imprezzabile, who, while carrying out patrol duties, lost his life during a pursuit. Deeply saddened, I express my condolences with solidarity and sympathy."
