After four days of agony in the hospital, little Thomas Viviano, the four-year-old boy who was the victim of an accident with a mini-motorcycle, has died. The tragedy dates back to last Monday, when the child ended up against a wall in the Boccadifalco neighborhood of Palermo. He died yesterday evening at the "Di Cristina" pediatric hospital, where he had been admitted in conditions that immediately appeared to be very serious. The dynamics of the accident are still unclear: Thomas, at the moment of impact, may not have been alone at the wheel of the motorcycle.

The accident occurred on the afternoon of April 7 in via Giovanni Bruno, a short distance from the child's home. The little boy was on a mini-bike, a vehicle that, according to the Municipal Police's findings, was equipped with training wheels, when he violently crashed into a low wall.

The child was rescued by his father, who took him to the Ingrassia hospital. Here, given the seriousness of his condition, the child was intubated and immediately transferred to the Di Cristina Children's Hospital. There, the child underwent delicate neurosurgical surgery due to the very serious internal injuries and facial fractures he had suffered. Unfortunately, yesterday, the child's conditions worsened further. The doctors at the Di Cristina Hospital began the procedure to determine brain death, an observation process that concluded in the evening with the confirmation of death.

The Municipal Police Accident Officers are continuing their investigations. The dynamics, in fact, had appeared unclear from the start: according to some investigative hypotheses, little Thomas may not have been alone on the minibike at the moment of impact.
