Murdered, dismembered, and buried in quicklime to hide the body and keep the stench at bay. Alessandro Venier, 35, was found dead in the cellar of his home in Gemona, in the province of Udine. His partner and mother are believed to have killed him: the two women have already admitted responsibility for the murder.
The death appears to have occurred a few days ago. The individual roles of the two women in the incident remain unclear. Venier had a six-month-old baby girl, fathered by his 30-year-old partner, who accused herself of the crime . The child was entrusted to municipal social services.
The local community of the small Friulian town is in shock over the brutal nature of the crime. Neighbors are incredulous that the victim's mother could be involved in the crime: she is a well-known nurse who has always cared for others . Neighbors urge caution: before passing judgment, they want to understand which of the two women will bear responsibility for the crime and how they were involved in the aftermath of the death, in the concealment and destruction of the body.
The magistrate on duty authorized the removal of the remains , which were transferred to the nearest forensic medicine center where the autopsy will be carried out.
