Husband and wife found dead at home, with gunshot wounds on their bodies

The lifeless bodies of a man and a woman, husband and wife, were found in Serranova, a hamlet of Carovigno, in the province of Brindisi. On the corpses the marks of gunshots.

The alarm was raised by a relative who yesterday morning, not seeing Antonio Calò, 64, at the bar as usual, went to his house in the evening, rang the doorbell but received no answer and became worried. He asked for the intervention of the carabinieri who, in the couple's home, found the body of the man and that of his 70-year-old wife Caterina.

The weapon used has not yet been found, therefore the hypothesis of a voluntary gesture is excluded: the investigators are following the trail of the double homicide.
