Downhill crash against the snow cannon: skier dies at the age of 29

A 29-year-old boy from La Spezia, Giovanni Pieroni, lost control of his skis during a descent, crashing into a snow cannon .

The young man was seriously injured in the impact, suffering a chest trauma: he died at the Morelli hospital in Sondalo shortly after arriving by ambulance.

The Prosecutor of Sondrio has ordered investigations into the dynamics to ascertain any responsibility. Seized the victim's cannon and ski equipment.
