With a gunshot he killed his wife and has now been arrested. The femicide took place during the night in the Amelia area, in the province of Terni. A crime which, in the words of the prosecutor Alberto Liguori, is linked "to despair", a "human drama due to illness".

The victim, a former teacher, was 80 years old, the same as the perpetrator (retired doctor), and was seriously ill.

Investigations are still underway, as it is still necessary to establish whether the elderly person acted on his own initiative or was somehow solicited by his wife. In front of the prosecutor he confessed and during the interrogation he defined himself as "distressed" by the conditions of his wife, which degenerated in the last harvest.

She, in moments of lucidity, would have repeatedly reported seeing her dignity as a person trampled on. Hence the decision of her husband to kill her to put an end to her sufferings. He would then hit her with a couple of gunshots in the chest, which left her no way out.

In the house, at the time of the murder, there were also one of the couple's two children, the partner and a caregiver, who then raised the alarm.
