Drama yesterday afternoon in Figline, in the province of Florence.

A 31-year-old was hit and killed by the car driven by her mother-in-law. The tragedy happened in a car park, at the end of what should have been a normal afternoon of shopping.

The young woman, Martina Breschi, was putting her purchases in the trunk when the car, for reasons to be ascertained, moved in reverse and hit her. The woman fell and died instantly: resuscitation attempts by the medical workers who arrived at the scene of the accident were useless.

At the wheel was the 66-year-old mother-in-law - taken to hospital in a state of shock -. The granddaughter of the victim, just one year old, was on board.

The municipal police of Figline and Incisa Valdarno are on site for the investigation.

In the meantime, psychological support has also been activated to support the families of victims of road accidents.
