Great fear in Trentino after a bear attacked a man who had gone to pick mushrooms in the woods of Bleggio Superiore , in the Rango area.

The man, a 33-year-old municipal worker originally from Piedmont, was walking alone among the trees when he suddenly felt himself attacked from behind. Having fallen to the ground, the bear turned toward him, repeatedly hitting him with its paws and injuring his back and arms before moving away. The injured man then managed to walk back to the nearest village where the alarm was raised .

The genetic evidence left on the clothes could be used "to identify the carnivore in order to proceed with its removal, as required by Pacobace for dangerous bears, the Province informs". But the animal rights activists of OIPA are protesting. " Another bear at risk of being killed in Trentino ", the International Organization for Animal Protection specifies. "OIPA will shortly present a request for access to the documents to know in detail the circumstances of the incident and announces an immediate appeal to the Regional Administrative Court if the PAT issues a provision that provides for the killing of the bear", the note continues.
