The thirty-year-old, for reasons yet to be ascertained, ended up with his car in the sea falling from the access ramp of a ferry . The car was submerged in water within seconds , with the boy drowning inside.
Except that, to his great luck, some fishermen on the spot - precisely the crew of the “Azzurro” ferry who were preparing to go out to sea - saw the whole scene and dived to rescue him. One in particular, armed with a hammer, broke the window freeing it .
The young man was brought to the ground and taken to the hospital by the 118 health workers to investigate the case.
On site the Ravenna Coast Guard with divers from the Fire Brigade, the Local Police and a patrol of the State Police.
The machine was recovered from a mobile crane of the same Fire Brigade.
