To prevent his 20-year-old daughter from going out, he would lock her in a room and often tie her hands and feet with chains. With accusations of family mistreatment and kidnapping, the mother was arrested in Aiello del Sabato, in the province of Avellino.
Last Sunday, the victim's sister reported what was happening at home to the carabinieri and, after a lightning investigation, the 47-year-old ended up in handcuffs. The two girls were placed in a protected structure, while their father was denounced and removed from the house with the prohibition of approaching his eight children (four are minors, now welcomed by a family home).
The 20-year-old segregated woman, who was sometimes only allowed to eat once a day, was found in fairly good health. A few years ago she fled and was found at night in a forest. She had been assisted by social services.
