A seven-year-old girl is hospitalized in the pediatric surgery department of the Vito Fazzi hospital in Lecce , after being bitten in the face by the family dog .

It is a pit bull and the attack took place while the little girl was in the family home, in the company of her parents and grandmother, in the Salento municipality of Monteroni.

From what we learn, the child is not in danger of life , but the police are investigating the incident, alerted by the emergency room staff.

The first attack dates back to May 30 and even in that case it was necessary to hospitalize the little girl.

After being reported by the carabinieri to the ASL and the Procura, the dog was seized and entrusted to the owner, the companion of the child's mother. The animal is still under seizure and entrusted to the owner in custody , pending the end of the investigations by the police.
