Gate collapses, worker crushed to death

Tragedy at work in Caserta, in Orta di Atella.

Antonio Bernardo, a 60-year-old worker, died when the entrance gate of an industrial warehouse belonging to the company “Le delizie del sud srl” overturned.

The man, married with three children, worked for a company in San Felice a Cancello that operates in the field of remediation and environmental protection systems, and resided in Sant'Agata dei Goti, in the Benevento area.

According to an initial reconstruction of the tragedy, it seems he was about to close the gate when it fell on him. The Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples North has opened a file on the accident, ordering the transfer of the body to the hospital in Giugliano for an autopsy.
