Revoked on the second day of the fuel distributors' strike , the presidents of Fegica and Figisc/Anisa Confcommercio made it known in a joint note.

" We do it in favor of motorists, certainly not for the government ," they specify. "While acknowledging that he had been able to constructively dialogue with the ministry, which has worked hard to become a proactive interlocutor, the meeting confirmed the persistence of many critical issues - they explain -. Even this last umpteenth attempt to remedy a by now worn-out situation has not succeeded in highlighting any concrete element that would even allow us to imagine interventions on the very serious problems of the sector and on structural price containment ».

Despite the government's proposed amendments, the petrol station attendants remain "recipients of confused, counterproductive and clearly accusing fulfilments" .

«It now appears clear that any attempt to advise the Government of reasonableness and concreteness cannot or does not want to be accepted - they underline -. For this reason, even insisting on continuing the strike action, used to gain a hearing from the government, no longer has any reason to exist. Especially since one of the fundamental objectives, namely to restore the truth after the false and decomposed accusations against a category of workers, has been abundantly achieved. The Italian citizens have understood perfectly . It is, therefore, to them, to the citizens that the gas station attendants are turning to, certainly not to the government, revoking the already proclaimed second day of the strike, eliminating any possible further inconvenience, completely useless at this point".

Distributors reopened as early as this evening, in Cagliari the protest proved to be a flop and many did not join.
