Loris Costantino, a 26-year-old worker for the Gea Power cleaning company, which operates the former Ilva steelworks, has died after falling from a platform on an Agglomerate line at the former Ilva plant in Taranto this morning. Local health authority (ASL) sources confirmed the death.

The young man fell from a height of about ten meters, suffering serious injuries to his chest and arm. He was immediately rescued and brought to safety.

by ambulance to the Santissima Annunziata hospital. Firefighters and Spesal staff were also on site. The circumstances and culprit are still being determined. On January 12th, 46-year-old Claudio Salamida, a factory worker, died in a similar accident.
