In front of the prosecutor who called him on the occasion of the assignment to carry out the autopsy on the body of his partner, found on the sofa of their home in Rome in an advanced state of decomposition, he only said that he would have liked to attend the examination : “I miss her too much, I can't let her go”.
An anomalous situation that the police are facing, with the 65-year-old who for three months hid the death of the woman, a 90-year-old. In reality, he explained, he did not think there was an obligation to notify the death, he had no intention of hiding anything. For months he lived with the corpse, he cleaned it several times, wrapping it in a sheet, but he was not "ready" to live alone and without that woman he had loved so much.
For now, however, he is being investigated for concealment.
The alarm was raised by the neighbors of the apartment, in the Trastevere area, who felt a terrible smell coming from the window and had not seen the 90-year-old for weeks.
