It was a night of terror in San Giovanni Rotondo, in the province of Foggia, where shortly after 11 p.m., several fires broke out near a large green area surrounding homes in the Costa district.

The situation is now back under control. During the night, it was necessary to evacuate about thirty homes, containing approximately 140 people, as a precaution. They were sheltered by relatives.

The Municipality also arranged for the opening of the Cavo well operations center, which coordinated the extinguishing operations.

Firefighters, who requested the Canadair, along with ARIF (Regional Agency for Irrigation and Forestry Activities) personnel and local police, responded to the scene. Numerous residents assisted in the containment efforts. The situation, monitored throughout the night by municipal officials, is now reportedly under control.
