During an operation by the Financial Police and the Forestry Carabinieri of Pavia, three people were arrested as they were held responsible for a fire that occurred in 2017. The flames had developed inside the "Eredi Bertè" waste plant of Mortara.

The offenses are illegal waste trafficking, arson, use and issuance of false invoices, fraudulent bankruptcy, money laundering and self-laundering.

"In addition to the arrests - reads the press release from the Fiamme Gialle - over 2 million euros were seized (including financial resources, buildings, land and vehicles) as a result of the unfair profit obtained through the non-payment of the costs of recovery and disposal of refusals and failure to pay the 'special regional tax' ".
