A family wiped out by carbon monoxide . Two adults and an 11-year-old boy died, a 6-year-old girl was hospitalized in very serious conditions .

The tragedy occurred in a villa in San Felice a Ema , a prestigious residential area near Florence . The firefighters discovered the tragedy after the ex-wife of the man, the owner of the house, raised the alarm by calling 118 because she was not receiving any answers from her family. The three victims are 49-year-old Matteo Racheli, his son Elio and his partner Margarida Alcione, a 46-year-old of South American origin. The couple's daughter is in serious condition at the Meyer pediatric hospital .

The firefighters arrived on the scene around 2 pm and when they opened the door of the house they found themselves facing a destroyed family: the man with the two children was on the sofa while the woman was on the floor a short distance from them , probably having lost consciousness while she was moving. According to the firefighters, they most likely did not notice anything . The four people were immediately taken outside, where resuscitation maneuvers began immediately. But the paramedics could only confirm three deaths. For the little girl, after being resuscitated outside the house, a desperate rush to the hospital.

In addition to rescuers and firefighters, the police arrived at the villa, including the scientific police, the carabinieri and the municipal police officers to regulate traffic. At the moment the accident that caused the tragedy is still to be ascertained and the health authorities and the police forces are working to try to clarify the causes of death: inside the house there are in fact, in addition to the boiler, some pellet stoves .

According to a neighbor, the couple had not lived there for long, perhaps a couple of years. Inside the apartment, firefighters report, there was also a cat that survived, as well as a dog, which however was outside.
