Tragedy in San Cosimo Albanese, an abereshe village of the Cosentino.

A 17-year-old boy died late yesterday after falling from a float after the carnival parade.

A team of firefighters from the Corigliano-Rossano detachment, returning from another intervention, was stopped by some motorists along the provincial road 183 due to the presence of a body lying on the ground. Emergency services were called immediately but there was nothing more they could do for the boy.

According to what was subsequently reconstructed by the carabinieri, the boy was with two friends on an allegorical wagon, pulled by a tractor, which after a carnival parade in the San Giacomo D'Acri hamlet was going to San Cosmo Albanese for another parade.

Along the way, the boy, for reasons under investigation, would have fallen from the vehicle hitting his head. The driver of the tractor didn't notice anything and continued on his march, even his friends didn't notice the fall, perhaps because they were positioned in another point of the wagon.

The carabinieri of the local station coordinated by the San Marco Argentano company intervened on the spot and are continuing the investigations to ascertain the exact cause of the accident. The Castrovillari Public Prosecutor ordered the autopsy and the seizure of the tractor.
