Faito cable car, cabin falls into ravine: four dead and one seriously injured

Four passengers, plus a driver, were trapped in a cabin that was upstream of the system and that fell into a ravine following a failure that occurred this afternoon, April 17, after 3:00 p.m. The toll is four victims and one seriously injured.

Sixteen people were rescued in the other cabin, the one located downstream of the system. The failure occurred shortly after 3:00 p.m., when a cable from the cableway fell onto the Circumvesuviana line below and the safety system blocked the two cabins .
