Fear in the night for four young people, who went on an excursion but without the adequate equipment in the Col Carrel area, at an altitude of 2,900 meters, in the Aosta Valley.
The boys wanted to stay overnight at the Federigo bivouac, along the route that leads to Becca di Nona, but they got stuck along the snowy and icy path.
In difficulty and now in the dark, they asked for help from the Valle d'Aosta Alpine Rescue , which rescued them by helicopter.
" The intervention was successful - explains Paolo Comune, director of Sav - thanks to the timeliness with which the boys decided to ask for help. They did well not to wait, thus allowing rescuers to reach them in good time. At night it would have been complicated in that area and with low temperatures ".
This is the fifth unscathed recovery mission by helicopter since the beginning of the year, to which are added other conducted overland. "For us it is always important to appeal to prudence - concludes Paolo Comune -. We are sorry to read certain comments on social media, which condemn (and sometimes insult) the protagonists of these episodes. The risk that, out of embarrassment or fear of having to pay the minutes of flight, people in difficulty do not ask for help and rescue is, unfortunately, concrete and can generate situations of avoidable danger ".
