Elia Del Grande's partner , Rossella Piras, a Sardinian native of Olbia , is under investigation . The 57-year-old is accused of helping the 49-year-old , sentenced to 30 years for murdering his family in 1998, during his escape from a workhouse in Castelfranco Emilia , in the Modena area.
Piras's entry in the register of suspects emerges from a search warrant executed by the Varese Carabinieri.
The woman is being assisted by the court-appointed lawyer Massimiliano Carnelli, who will be examining the case file.
Two investigations are underway to determine who helped Del Grande: one in Modena, the other in Varese . And the Varese prosecutor's office has placed Piras under investigation.
