Before dying he expressed one last wish: to seal his love for the companion he met 32 years earlier, from whom he had distanced himself and with whom he had finally found himself.

The touching story comes from Puglia. The protagonists, a 73-year-old man, terminally ill , hospitalized at the San Bartolomeo hospice in Martina Franca (Taranto) , and his 60-year-old partner.

"There was a very beautiful and meaningful ceremony in the hospital", the director of the hospice, Silvana Ausiello , explained to the Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno. even moments of joy like yesterday ".

To formalize the realization of their dream of love was Maria Rosaria Cicero , civil officer of the Municipality of Martina Franca.

"The deputy mayor and other representatives of the Municipality joined us - explained Ausiello - even the deputy mayor and other representatives of the Municipality and were amazed by this party but I say that we all have the right to happiness. There is a distorted mentality especially here in the South that tends to identify these hospice as places where only death is expected, but this is not the case ".
