The medical unions have called a national strike to protest against the budget law drawn up by the Meloni government, which they consider "disappointing".

The day of protest – called by the doctors' unions Anaao, Cimo and the nurses' union Nursing Up – will be Wednesday, November 20.

«We have also joined the protest in Sardinia – Luigi Mascia, regional secretary of Cimo , explains to UnioneSarda.it – and on Wednesday 20 November we will demonstrate in Cagliari, in Piazza del Carmine ».

In announcing the strike, the unions issued a joint statement, signed by Pierino Di Silverio, secretary of Anaao Assomed, Guido Quici, president of Cimo-Fesmed, and Antonio De Palma, President of Nursing Up , where they point the finger at the "crumbs" provided for by the Budget Law to the medical-health sector.

«For public health workers , the increase of 1.3 billion in the National Health Requirement in 2025 – instead of the 3.7 billion announced – is not enough to give oxygen to a gasping health system».

"We cannot remain silent - the unions continue - in the face of yet another mockery of healthcare personnel and citizens, in the face of the about-faces of the Ministry of Economy that nullify the efforts of Health and the about-face of those who work to push healthcare personnel to abandon public healthcare".
