The Bologna Prosecutor's Office is expanding its investigation into the death of Abderrahim Fakir, the 42-year-old Moroccan man who died yesterday on Via Svevo during an intervention by law enforcement and medical personnel. Six people have been registered in the preliminary records: two officers from the Bolognina Pontevecchio police station who responded to the scene and four ambulance workers.
The alleged crime is manslaughter , in light of the investigations that will be ordered, starting with forensic examinations. The Prosecutor's Office specifies that the investigation will cover "the entire sequence of events," with a reconstruction that will go beyond the video circulating on social media and already acquired by investigators.
Investigators are also scrutinizing the phases leading up to the arrival of emergency services . According to initial investigations, when police called 911, they reported a man suffering from a psychiatric crisis. Shortly beforehand, they had been alerted by some residents to the presence of Fakir, described as agitated: the 42-year-old had allegedly had a collision with the driver of a car entering a garage near the scene where he later died. The other residents present and filmed in the video filmed by a resident are not under investigation.
