The man accused by the Reggio Emilia Prosecutor's Office and Carabinieri of killing his partner, Daniela Coman, a 47-year-old Romanian woman, found dead in his home in Prato di Correggio between Wednesday and Thursday, was arrested late this evening and taken to prison during the night.

Yesterday the man, an Italian, had been questioned by investigators, coordinated by prosecutor Valentina Salvi . Defended by lawyer Annalisa Miglioli, he had availed himself of the right to remain silent, but elements emerged against him that led investigators to issue the provision.

Regarding the arrest, the Reggio Emilia prosecutor Calogero Paci and the heads of the provincial Carabinieri command will hold a press conference this morning.

She was summoned at 11am to the Provincial Command of the Arma (Corso Cairoli 8, Reggio Emilia).

The woman's body was found after her ex-partner, 68 years old, filed a complaint yesterday with the Carabinieri in Sassuolo (Modena). The man had not heard from her for a couple of days, while he used to talk often, every day, with the 47-year-old, with whom he has a son and with whom he had maintained a good relationship. It seems that Daniela Coman had been living or at least frequenting her new partner's house for about a month. On Wednesday evening, when the Carabinieri went to look for her, they had to force the door, with the help of the firefighters. Her car, a white Peugeot 206, was missing. And it was thanks to the license plate of the car that the suspected partner was also found during the night, found in the Modena area in an altered state. It seems that he had drug addiction problems and some neighbors reported out of control behavior.
