The first "weather bomb" of autumn 2023 is expected for tomorrow. Italy will be hit by the cyclone Medusa which will split the country in two: in the north, cloudbursts and windstorms, in the south an unseasonal heat wave with values almost record-breaking.

Over the weekend, attention will be focused on Sardinia and part of the Ligurian Sea where powerful storm surges may be recorded.

From today, however, there will be irregular cloud cover and some rain, especially in the south and in the central Tyrrhenian area. From tomorrow things will change: a cyclonic vortex close to Portugal will move slightly northwards and will be absorbed by a second and much larger cyclone, Medusa: the latter will move towards our country, giving rise to a real " weather bomb”.

In the southern regions, however, very hot winds of African origin will cause an increase in temperatures, and it will feel like returning to the height of summer, with the mercury column possibly exceeding 32 degrees locally.
