There are also two Sardinian provinces in the analysis carried out by the mathematician Giovanni Sebastiani, of the Institute for Calculus Applications “M. Picone”, of the National Research Council, on the incidence of Covid19 positives in the last seven days up to 6 September 2023.
An incidence which, it is explained, "has increased significantly compared to the values of the first week of July".
In detail, three groups of provinces can be seen "depending on the type of trend in the last two weeks up to 6 September: provinces with a constant average value, those with linear growth and those with accelerated growth".
In accelerated growth, three clusters of contiguous provinces stand out, with the exception of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola.
They are all the provinces of Friuli Venezia Giulia and that of Belluno; Bergamo, Brescia, Como, Cremona, Lecco, Lodi, Milan, Monza and Brianza, Pavia, Alessandria, Asti, Turin; Caserta, Naples, Salerno, Matera, Isernia.
Apart from a few cases, Sebastiani continues, the provinces with constant trends form four clusters of contiguous provinces. These are Sassari, Nuoro ; Brindisi, Lecce; Cosenza, Crotone; Trapani, Agrigento, Caltanissetta, Enna, Catania and Ragusa.
Furthermore, two other groups of provinces are identified which almost form two clusters of contiguous provinces: Piacenza, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna, Ferrara and Forlì-Cesena; Arezzo, Perugia, Grosseto and Viterbo.
The values of the weekly incidence per 100 thousand inhabitants until 6 September are as follows: Cagliari (85); Rovigo and Padua (70); Oristano , Catanzaro and Lodi (65); Ravenna and Cremona (60); Venice, Belluno, Treviso, Vicenza and Avellino (55); Massa Carrara, Ancona, Latina, Pavia, Teramo, Mantua and Chieti (50); Salerno, Rimini, Verona, Rome, Brescia, La Spezia, Caserta and Siena (45); Sassari , Pordenone, Pisa, L'Aquila, Lecce, Udine, Naples and Milan (40); Ferrara, Monza and Brianza, Como, Nuoro , Genoa, Arezzo, Sondrio, Pistoia, Lecco, Terni and Florence (35); Asti, Savona, Livorno, Southern Sardinia , Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Reggio Calabria, Reggio Emilia, Perugia, Lucca, Novara, Grosseto, Frosinone, Alessandria, Piacenza, Ascoli Piceno, Isernia, Trieste, Bologna, Bergamo and Benevento (30) ; Vercelli, Vibo Valentia, Macerata, Turin, Gorizia, Bari, Taranto, Foggia, Prato, Pesaro and Urbino, Fermo, Varese, Pescara and Rieti (25); Forlì-Cesena, Cosenza, Trento, Parma, Campobasso, Biella, Brindisi and Cuneo (20); Barletta-Andria-Trani, Viterbo, Imperia, Aosta and Bolzano (15); Crotone, Modena, Trapani, Matera and Potenza (10); Palermo, Ragusa, Messina, Caltanissetta and Agrigento (5); Catania (2), Enna and Syracuse (1).
