On Covid , the Meloni government radically changes its line with respect to previous executives.

This was announced by both the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in his speech to the Chambers and the new Minister of Health Orazio Schillaci . And now the confirmations of the new course are coming from the various departments concerned.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance , for example, has sent to the Department for relations with the Parliament an amendment proposal to suspend the activities and procedures for imposing the sanction in cases of non-fulfillment of the Covid vaccination obligation until 30 June 2023 . 19.

For its part, the Ministry of Health will no longer issue the daily bulletin on the epidemic , but will limit itself to an update with weekly data.

There is also the hypothesis of a full return to normality as regards the use of masks, even in hospitals.

But doctors are skeptical on this point. The national secretary of Anaao Assomed, the largest union of hospital doctors, Pierino Di Silverio, warns: "The epidemic from Covid-19 is not over, even if at the moment the hospital pressure is under control. For this, let your guard down , assuming to abolish the obligation of masks in hospitals, it would be a risk that we cannot run also because in hospitals there are the most fragile and most at risk subjects ".

"We would not want - adds Di Silverio - to risk returning as potential infectors albeit unaware. The real emergency is rather the vaccination campaign that needs to be increased".
