The 11-year-old boy was seriously injured when hit by an SUV in via del Torraccio di Torrenova, on the outskirts of Rome .
The accident occurred in the early afternoon.
The little boy was transported to the Bambino Gesù hospital in red code while the driver of the car, a 51-year-old man who hit a traffic light after the impact, suffered some minor injuries and was transferred to the Casilino Polyclinic.
Toxicology tests were requested for him .
The patrols of the VI Torri Group of the local police of Roma Capitale intervened on the spot.
