The Carabinieri del NAS seized 14 aesthetic medicine centers lacking the requirements in various regions, as part of a campaign of checks in agreement with the Ministry of Health, following the latest dramatic news events, and 1,160 checks were carried out, leading to the seizure of medical devices and drugs worth 3.5 million euros.
Furthermore, 32 criminal offences were ascertained, attributable to the unauthorised practice of the healthcare profession, the unauthorised opening of aesthetic medicine clinics, irregularities in the management and possession of expired drugs, the prescription of drugs for hospital use and the falsification of professional certificates.
A further 156 administrative sanctions were contested for authorization and procedural failures connected with the failure to apply Regional Laws and regulations relating to the beautician's activity. Fines of 130 thousand euros were imposed.
