The Aosta prosecutor's office has opened a file on the case of radiologist Gianluca Fanelli, who admitted to having subjected his injured cat to a CT scan and drainage of a pneumothorax at the Parini hospital in Aosta, where he is responsible for the simple Radiology unit .

It was the same Aosta Valley Health Authority that reported the facts to the prosecutor's office.

"Here - said yesterday the general director of the health company, Massimo Uberti - there are also hypotheses of crimes that can be prosecuted ex officio , I am talking about hypotheses, but the public official has the obligation, in the event of hypotheses of these crimes, to report them to the prosecutor's office".

Dr. Uberti learned of the facts on Friday evening: "They were reported to me and I arranged for an investigation by the director of the radiology facility and the diagnostic imaging department, who are responsible for that service. I then activated the disciplinary commission, which is the body responsible for verifying the facts and issuing sanctions. Now the process of contesting and verifying the facts will begin."

Gianluca Fanelli, for his part, is ready to compensate for the financial damage, but he is certainly not sorry for his action, which he actually claims: «Athena (the cat, ed.) would have died, I only did my duty» .
