The Court of Auditors has ordered Governor Vincenzo De Luca to pay the Campania Region €609,000 in compensation for the production of regional anti-Covid smart cards, deemed "a useless duplicate of the national green pass."
The investigations were conducted by the economic and financial police unit of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples under the direction of the public accountants Davide Vitale and Mauro Senatore. De Luca was convicted because his conduct was considered to have been committed with intent.
The other charges brought against the President of the Campania Region were instead considered covered by the tax shield: according to the Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Auditors of Campania, they were commission-like conduct characterized by gross negligence.
