The deputy prosecutors Igor Secco and Federica Iovine have asked for life imprisonment for Benno Neumair , the 31-year-old from Bolzano, who confessed to the double murder of his parents Laura and Peter and for the concealment of their bodies, which were thrown into the Adige river.

During the indictment before the Court of Assizes of Bolzano, the prosecution asked that any extenuating circumstances not be recognized and defined Neumair's confession as "superfluous", because it was made only after the discovery of his mother's body .

The accusation against the 31-year-old is a multi-aggravated voluntary homicide, the prosecutors also asked for daytime isolation for a year. The double crime, the prosecutor said, was "committed with full conscience and will". Furthermore, the use of a rope to strangle them "denotes a particular intensity of intent" .

Benno was not in the courtroom, he decided not to participate in the final phase of the trial. Instead, his sister Madè was present.

After the indictment it's up to the civil party lawyers and the speech of Benno's defenders. Already on Saturday , according to the established calendar, the Court should retire to the council chamber and read the operative part of the sentence in the evening of the same day.
