A young talent from Carbonia becomes a Standard Bearer of Labor.
Alessandro Serafini is also among the 25 best students in Italy, nominated by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, who thus rewards and celebrates commitment and dedication in school life. Born in Carbonia in May 2005 and living in Bacu Abis, Alessandro graduated with honors from the Asproni-Fermi computer technician in Iglesias with an average of 9.96 and is enrolled at the University of Computer Science in Cagliari.
Not only the excellence of industry and of the great Italian entrepreneurship, every year together with the twenty-five new Knights of Labor, the best students in Italy are also awarded at the Quirinale. Established by the National Federation of Knights of Labor, the Alfieri del Lavoro Award is given every year to 25 students who have completed secondary school with the highest grades.

For 2024, school principals have reported 3,404 students, of which 3,225 meet the required requirements. Among them, 1,999 women and 1,226 men.
The territorial origin of the 25 Alfieri 2024 is represented by 9 Provinces in the North, 7 in the Center and 9 in the South and Islands distributed in 16 Regions. Of the awardees, 10 are women and 15 are men; 22 have obtained a high school diploma and 3 a technical diploma. The averages of the twenty-five Alfieri del Lavoro of 2024 range from 9.81 to 10; 24 have obtained honors in the state exam. The number of awardees is linked to that of the Cavalieri del Lavoro, to underline the continuity of the commitment in study and in life. The Alfieri del Lavoro receive the certificate of honor and the Medal of the President of the Republic. From 1961 to 2024, 1,608 Alfieri del Lavoro have been designated.
